Position Summary

At Elephants, we prepare a variety of local foods from scratch daily, much of which is crafted at our Central Kitchen in SE Portland. To achieve this, we depend on a skilled team of culinary professionals who produce high-quality food products around the clock. Our dynamic team is always adapting to meet the evolving needs of our stores and clientele.

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee our talented Dessert department. Our production bakery is a fast-paced environment where energy and purpose drive our work. Ideal candidates should be quick thinkers, adept problem solvers, and inspiring leaders who can motivate their team members. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise in a collaborative and enjoyable workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the bakery while supporting the dessert team in producing consistent, high-quality desserts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bakery equipment and workspaces.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of dessert production processes and assist in cross-training team members as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company safety, dress, and personnel policies while fostering a positive team environment based on mutual respect.
  • A valid food handler's card is required for this role.
