Job Summary

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and providing continuous care to patients of all ages. As an active member of the treatment team, the MHT will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous patient care and supervision to patients of all ages
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and well-being
  • Interact with patients and provide role modeling to promote positive behavior
  • Assist with daily living activities and provide emotional support to patients
  • Participate in treatment planning and implementation to ensure patient goals are met
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Two years of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state
  • Successful completion of Management Aggressive Behavior Training (CPI) and certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association for CPR
