Job Summary:

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will provide exceptional support to our surgeons and physician assistants, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate calendars and schedules for multiple surgeons and physician assistants
• Schedule clinic appointments, surgeries, testing, and procedures
• Provide routine and complex administrative support, including typing memos and letters, answering telephones, and taking and distributing messages
• Assist with training and orienting staff as needed
• Provide cross-coverage as needed
• Assist with obtaining authorizations and referrals for clinic visits, surgeries, and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; post-high school education preferred
• Minimum three years of applicable work experience required
• Additional training in office systems preferred

Working Conditions:

This role is based in a hospital-based ambulatory practice, with normal patient environments where there may be some exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, needles, and blood products.
