About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Culinary Operations Director to join our team. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our restaurant, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional food quality, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, and profitability.
- Assist the Executive Chef in resolving kitchen-related problems and ensure all staff follows proper procedures and protocols.
- Oversee kitchen operations while working hands-on with staff, promoting a positive and professional working culture.
- Control purchases and inventory by managing weekly food orders, meeting with Kitchen Manager and Culinary Director to ensure proper levels, and reviewing reports to analyze food cost and take corrective action.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by enforcing sanitation standards and upholding health code compliance.
- Manage labor by scheduling according to a weekly budget and adjusting daily based on sales.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of current food and industry trends locally and nationally.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef or similar role, preferably with supervisory experience.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
- ServSafe Manager Certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to effectively supervise and motivate assigned direct reports in a kitchen setting, possessing a positive attitude, work well with others, be trustworthy, and be well-organized and efficient.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and reach, bend, and stoop as needed.
- Reliable attendance is essential.
Benefits and Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
