This key leadership position plays a critical role in growing Athletics gift and sponsorship revenue, as well as supporting the general operations of the Athletic Department.
Key Responsibilities- External Relations
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow Athletics gift and sponsorship revenue
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and prospective donors
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit sponsorships and gift support for Athletics
- Development and Fundraising
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to achieve annual and long-term goals
- Manage a portfolio of major sponsorship and gift donors
- Collaborate with the Annual Giving team and departmental colleagues to plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns
- Collaboration and Communication
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including coaches, College departments, and other key personnel
- Communicate effectively with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders to build support for Athletics
- Leadership and Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Friends of St. Scholastica Athletics (FOSSA) booster organization
- Manage and supervise staff and volunteers as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience with office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Ability to frequently travel throughout the United States
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
- Previous fundraising experience working directly with donors
- Knowledge of Division III athletics and particularly the MIAC conference
- Understanding of fundraising techniques (annual giving, major giving, planned giving)
- Knowledge of tax guidelines regarding charitable giving
