GENERAL SUMMARY:


This role requires a deep understanding of email marketing and marketing automation technologies. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the development and tactical execution of email marketing initiatives.

The objective is to enhance consumer engagement through innovative marketing technologies that align with organizational growth and engagement goals.

This position will act as a pivotal resource for the email marketing programs and will focus on elevating the quality and effectiveness of marketing strategies by applying industry standards and best practices.

Additionally, the candidate will possess advanced technical expertise in marketing CRM and email platforms, facilitating discussions with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding the selection and implementation of new tools and technologies as needed.

Working within the Marketing Department, under the guidance of the Manager of Marketing Technology and the Director of Digital Engagement, this role will collaborate closely with the marketing team, vendor partners, and other key stakeholders to address challenges and create value through both long-term strategies and immediate action plans.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary contact for marketing CRM technology, including marketing automation, database querying, and email design/platforms.
  • Collaborate with brand and marketing service line leaders to understand client objectives and develop targeted lists using the CRM database, utilizing marketing automation tools to execute direct mail and email campaigns that drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Oversee email marketing projects, guiding the strategy, prioritization, and tactical execution of both long-term and daily tasks. Supervise external vendor and marketing agency resources involved in CRM project development and implementation.
  • Implement a standardized process for campaign development, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline operations for enhanced efficiency and consistency across multiple channels.
  • Contribute to a knowledge base that informs future improvements and establish optimization plans.
  • Define targeted list segments to support email campaigns, maximizing results and leveraging opportunities for personalized messaging.
  • Maintain the marketable email address list in the CRM database to enhance deliverability and ensure data integrity.
  • Support the design and layout of emails using HTML editors and other email building interfaces.
  • Collaborate with content owners to craft compelling email copy.
  • Establish key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to assess the success of email marketing campaigns.
  • Provide mentorship and training to employees on best practices for automated marketing campaigns.
  • Support the strategic oversight of digital marketing initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing CRM platforms and automation tools, particularly in email design and journey building.
  • Proficient in utilizing marketing automation for email campaigns to advance service lines and retention efforts.
  • Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with internal clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced technical and marketing acumen, with the ability to communicate technical requirements effectively.
  • Familiarity with digital development aspects, including UTM tagging and HTML design.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High analytical ability to interpret data and requirements for technology development or integration.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations such as CAN-SPAM and HIPAA.

Education:
  • 3-7 years of experience with marketing CRM technology and email platforms.
  • Experience using analytics data to develop digital strategies.
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
