Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Animal Technician I to join our team at Seattle Children's. As an Animal Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of laboratory animals, while also supporting research initiatives and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct animal husbandry tasks, including cage cleaning, animal monitoring, and record-keeping.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as cage washers and autoclaves.
- Assist with research projects, including data collection and record-keeping.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfecting animal enclosures and equipment.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure the success of research projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Some laboratory/animal husbandry experience with mice and rats.
- Experience operating cage washers and autoclaves.
Seattle Children's offers a competitive salary range of $26.99 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 403(b), life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
