Position Overview


The National Account Executive is tasked with overseeing promotions, sales, pricing, and service of products while executing strategies and plans for chain accounts.

Key Responsibilities

- Achieve all assigned sales and profitability targets for mid-sized national and regional accounts.
- Build and sustain relationships with regional and national buyers.
- Oversee and implement pricing, merchandising, and competitive strategies.
- Collaborate with national, regional, and corporate accounts to ensure swift and effective compliance.
- Provide timely market insights to the management team regarding pricing, merchandising, and market trends.
- Supervise field implementation and execution of national and regional initiatives to guarantee accurate product pricing, effective discount management, and adherence to program deadlines.
- Coordinate and oversee advertisements, in-store promotions, and related activities.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability, timely replenishment, and distribution, conducting spot checks on inventory and monthly pricing reports.
- Track sales performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Identify short- and long-term account opportunities and devise plans to leverage products and relationships.
- Organize chain sales calls, vendor meetings, and visits.
- Partner with suppliers to identify and pursue chain account opportunities.
- Assist in evaluating the impact and effectiveness of existing programs.
- Provide monthly reports to chain account leadership.
- Attend chain account promotions and events.
- May oversee a team of Chain Specialists, defining expectations, monitoring progress, and providing guidance as necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven years of pertinent experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain auto-liability insurance as per state regulations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Capable of obtaining and meeting industry licensing requirements as necessary.

Physical Demands

Physical demands may include prolonged periods of sitting and typing on a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine.
Physical activities may occasionally involve walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40 lbs.
Extensive travel (50%) by automobile may be required, including driving distances of up to 100 miles.
The critical nature of this role may necessitate extended hours, overtime, and weekend work.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive.

Consequently, any individual receiving a conditional offer of employment will be required to pass a drug test, including a marijuana test.
