Executive Director Opportunity

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Hawaii Chapter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management to our organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our members and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership and direction to the Chapter, aligning with the NASW mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to engage and retain members, promote the social work profession, and advance social justice.
  • Collaborate with the Chapter Board and National Office to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Manage and supervise staff, ensuring the delivery of excellent services and support to members.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, and other organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues, applying this knowledge to inform Chapter initiatives and decisions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of executive-level experience in a professional or non-profit organization.
  • Senior leadership experience working with volunteer Boards and staff in a professional office environment.
  • Four-year college degree required; MSW preferred.
  • Exceptional executive management skills, including budgeting, financial management, and staff supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong public policy experience and skills, with a focus on advocacy and legislative affairs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Office products software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
