Job Overview

The Beverage Attendant plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service to guests in a lively casino environment, adhering to established guidelines and standards. This position encompasses various responsibilities aimed at ensuring a pleasant experience for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confirm the legal drinking age of guests and comply with all relevant Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) regulations, state laws, and gaming policies while serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Prepare and maintain a well-organized beverage tray, which includes a cash caddy for transactions, matches, beverage napkins, a notepad for orders, and a writing instrument.
  • Manage a cash bank for providing change to customers.
  • Order alcoholic beverages from the bartender and ensure proper payment is made for the entire order, except in dining areas where drinks are charged to the respective dining check.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and approachable manner, consistently presenting a welcoming smile.
  • Conduct regular check-ins in assigned areas to collect trash, empty ashtrays, and inquire if guests require cocktail service during the shift.
  • Take drink requests from customers and proactively offer service to all players, ensuring cleanliness by disposing of trash and empty bottles.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various alcoholic beverages, their types, pricing, and the cash and carry service method.
  • Collect payments for each drink or round of drinks promptly upon order placement.
  • Stay informed about the drink and beer menu, including pricing and garnishing details.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the department.

Compliance and Regulatory Duties

Each team member is responsible for adhering to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, which includes:

  • Participating in mandatory training sessions provided by the company.
  • Obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses.
  • Executing duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring minors are not permitted to gamble, consume alcohol, or purchase tobacco products.
  • Being knowledgeable about departmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding the property's initiatives to address problem gaming.
  • Reporting any observed misconduct or violations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a casino or hospitality setting is preferred.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, exceeding eight hours.
  • Capability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 20 pounds.

Certificates and Licenses

Possession of a valid Virginia Racing Commission License and a valid Driver's License with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience is required.

Physical Requirements

This role demands physical stamina and agility, including the ability to sit or stand, walk, use hands for handling objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and communicate effectively. The employee may be required to lift, push, or pull weights up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The work environment is typically moderate to loud, requiring circulation throughout assigned areas, including those with smoking.
