Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Colonial Downs + Rosie's Gaming Emporium. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful operation of our restaurants and bar outlets, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of Food and Beverage Team Members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the work of Food and Beverage Team Members to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
  • Delegate duties and assign responsibilities to Team Members to ensure efficient operations and effective use of resources.
  • Uphold company and departmental service standards, ensuring coaching and accountability measures are enforced to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers, supervising programs and processes to reduce and control loss-time injuries.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of food and beverages being served, taking corrective actions to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in recruitment and selection processes, including job posting and recruiting metrics.
  • Complete and process performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to Team Members to improve performance.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance Team Member skills and knowledge.
  • Review marketing and promotions with Team Members, communicating key initiatives and expectations.
  • Supervise cleaning and side work standards, ensuring equipment is properly operating and advising Food and Beverage Managers about service-related repairs.
  • Monitor staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment, delegating authority and assigning responsibilities based on business needs.
  • Identify and define business needs, implementing solutions to drive beneficial changes to the department.
  • Respond to customer complaints and issues, resolving matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with budget development and management for the Food and Beverage department, upholding operating margins as directed.
  • Collaborate with Food and Beverage Leadership to develop and implement operating standards.
  • Ensure consistent and convincing service according to company standards.
  • Provide leadership and project management as assigned.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional guest service to internal and external guests, demonstrating the #AddLife culture in all interactions.
  • Provide guest service training and departmental orientation for new employees.
Standards of Performance
  • Work on the floor 90% of the time, maintaining a "hands-on" mentality for guest service.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all Team Members and the public.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the performance of the position.
  • Maintain a professional attitude, strong organizational and time management skills, and a customer-focused approach.

  • Have knowledge of menu development, costing, labor management, food trends, and service, as well as overall restaurant operations.
  • Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Micros, and Stratton Warren or comparable inventory systems.
  • Be available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required licenses.
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Serv-Safe

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinates who may supervise employees.
