Job Overview

Position Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its operations in Salt Lake City and Missoula. This pivotal role will serve as the public representative of the IRC at the community level. The CEO will define the strategic vision, communicate the organizational mission, and manage the development and execution of programs while ensuring compliance with grant and contract obligations. The CEO will also oversee the delivery of essential services, including case management and social integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:
  • Organizational Leadership: Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the IRC's local offices. Foster strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders to promote the IRC's mission and enhance local operations.
  • Strategic Planning: Direct the annual strategic planning process, integrating insights from IRC staff to align with the agency's overarching goals.
  • Staff Development: Cultivate a cohesive team environment, ensuring open communication and adherence to the IRC Code of Conduct. Implement effective onboarding and professional development initiatives.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure compliance with IRC policies and effective communication with headquarters regarding operational matters.
  • Human Resources Management: Establish robust systems for recruitment, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Advocacy and Community Engagement: Lead local advocacy initiatives and represent the IRC in community outreach efforts.
  • External Relations: Enhance the organization's visibility and foster partnerships with community, media, and funding sources.
Financial Stewardship:
  • Budget Management: Oversee the development and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
  • Resource Development: Collaborate with fundraising teams to cultivate donor relationships and expand funding opportunities.
  • Marketing and Communications: Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the IRC's mission and programs.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in social services or humanitarian programs.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with a focus on program development and advocacy.
  • Strong fundraising and financial management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in digital tools, including MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
