Position Overview

The individual in this role will oversee the daily operations of the PGA TOUR Superstore STUDIO situated within Five Iron Golf, reporting directly to the Manager of Performance Center and Brand Activation.

While employed by PGA TOUR Superstore, the Golf Studio Operations Manager collaborates closely with the leadership team at Five Iron Golf to deliver an outstanding club fitting experience.


Primary Responsibilities:

The Golf Studio Operations Manager is a key advocate of the PGA TOUR Superstore 'Customer First' philosophy, ensuring a world-class experience that aligns with our Core Values.

This role involves maximizing customer engagement with STUDIO Services while maintaining organized, clean workspaces and ensuring fitting technologies are operational.

The Manager is tasked with guaranteeing that all PGA TOUR Superstore Associates at the Five Iron Golf location leverage expert-level club fitting and product knowledge to provide effective equipment recommendations, communicating clearly and respectfully with customers.


Key Duties:


The foremost priority of the Golf Studio Operations Manager is to ensure that every customer receives exceptional service while creating a unique and enjoyable, appointment-based club fitting experience.


Additional responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily STUDIO operations (e.g., club repairs, organizational tasks, customer interactions, etc.)
- Managing schedules for Fitters and Golf Instructors to optimize club fitting availability.


- Enhancing customer engagement with STUDIO Services to achieve or surpass set monthly and annual sales and booking targets.

- Overseeing inventory management, placing and receiving orders, and communicating with customers.


- Managing fitting component inventory and tools, ensuring the STUDIO space is in excellent condition, and collaborating with various business units to resolve issues.


- Mentoring STUDIO Services Specialists at the same Five Iron Golf location.


- Ensuring each club fitting session meets the customer service quality standards established by PGA TOUR Superstore.

Collaborating with Five Iron Golf leadership to educate associates on the benefits of STUDIO Services and how to recommend them to customers.


- Becoming proficient in the use of leading club fitting technology, including various launch monitor systems and OEM-specific fitting tools.


- Delivering outstanding customer service by welcoming and acknowledging every customer, understanding their needs, and providing relevant solutions from our Service offerings.


- Educating customers on club and ball technology, club components, and fitting techniques to facilitate informed purchase decisions based on desired outcomes and realistic performance expectations.


- Constructing custom golf clubs to precise specifications and executing standard golf club repairs, including regripping, reshafting, and adjusting loft & lie.

- Addressing customer concerns and resolving them satisfactorily.

- Advocating for STUDIO at local golf association meetings or networking events.

- Completing work lists and directives promptly.


- Adhering to approved loss prevention strategies to minimize inventory shrinkage and support store profitability; providing feedback to store leadership on loss prevention opportunities as necessary.



Qualifications and Skills Required:

Communication:
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.

Candidates must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities and collaborate effectively with other associates to implement company initiatives.


Analytical:
Candidates should possess solid business acumen and the ability to devise solutions for common challenges. They must identify opportunities and formulate strategies to boost sales and enhance operational processes.

Computer:
Candidates must have basic computer proficiency, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet. They should be able to learn scheduling software, simulator software, and basic reporting functions.


Organization: Candidates must be adept at managing multiple priorities and completing various tasks during their shifts while delivering excellent customer service.


Skills:
- Ability to apply established fitting principles while utilizing advanced fitting technology.
- Ability to understand ball flight principles to assess individual customer needs.


- Ability to identify and explain the characteristics of club components and their effects on ball flight, the golf club fitting process, and commonly used fitting tools in the industry.


- Effective trainer who can assist other associates in developing fitting skills and techniques.
- Ability to apply accepted club building methods while meeting quality and safety standards.

Education:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a G.E.D. or high school diploma. Training in Original Equipment Manufacturing and vendor certification is a plus.

Experience:
Three to five (3-5) years of experience in club fitting and golf equipment sales is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, navigate the store, and lift a 30 lb. box overhead.

Candidates must be flexible with their work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

The Golf Studio Operations Manager must be able to accommodate a typical retail schedule, working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Occasional travel may be necessary for company-sponsored continuing education or to assist with new store setups and training.
