Core Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position encompass a variety of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Processing diverse transactions related to driver and vehicle credentials, including issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation.
  • Providing exemplary customer service by gathering necessary information to assist clients with their transactions.
  • Identifying and recommending exceptions to standard procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Accurately managing and reconciling all financial transactions associated with DMV services.
  • Interpreting and explaining relevant laws and regulations to a wide range of stakeholders, including the public and legal entities.
  • Reviewing and validating essential documents required for credential issuance.
  • Utilizing various systems to assess customer eligibility and complete transactions efficiently.
  • Resolving discrepancies and making informed decisions based on thorough analysis.
  • Answering inquiries related to non-DMV services and facilitating additional registrations.
  • Conducting evaluations of drivers' skills and knowledge through various assessments.
  • Performing inspections of vehicle equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Job Requirements

To qualify for the Motor Vehicle Associate III position, candidates must demonstrate:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in document processing, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Two years of customer service experience, emphasizing prompt and courteous service.
  • Two years of experience applying motor vehicle laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using automated information systems for data management.
  • Experience operating equipment relevant to driver and vehicle services.
  • Knowledge of staff supervision through training or practical experience.
