Key Responsibilities

The essential functions of this role encompass core activities that are fundamental to all positions within the classification:

  • Manage a range of transactions, including the issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation of driver and vehicle credentials.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by gathering necessary information to assist clients in resolving their inquiries.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for situations that deviate from standard procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Accurately process and account for all financial transactions related to DMV services, ensuring proper reconciliation and deposit of funds.
  • Interpret and explain motor vehicle laws and regulations to various stakeholders, including the public and legal entities.
  • Review and validate essential documents required for credential issuance, ensuring their authenticity and completeness.
  • Utilize multiple systems to analyze documents and determine customer eligibility for services.
  • Address customer inquiries related to non-DMV services and facilitate necessary transactions.
  • Conduct evaluations of drivers' knowledge and skills through various testing methods.
  • Perform inspections of vehicle equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Generate and maintain accurate records and reports related to transactions and inspections.
Job Requirements

To qualify for the Motor Vehicle Associate III position, candidates must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Two years of experience in document processing, including the evaluation of records for compliance with regulations.
  • Two years of customer service experience, ensuring prompt and courteous assistance to clients.
  • Two years of experience applying motor vehicle laws and regulations.
  • Two years of experience utilizing automated information systems for data management.
  • One year of experience operating equipment related to driver or vehicle services.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices, either through formal training or practical experience.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
