Position Overview

Salary: $155,000 - $175,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Next Stage Design + Build is a well-established firm with two decades of excellence in providing aesthetically pleasing and functional designs, superior construction quality, and exceptional client satisfaction to our upscale clientele in the Silicon Valley area. As we transition into an employee-owned organization with a dedicated team of 30, we are in search of a General Manager to assume the role of Chief Operating Executive. This individual will be pivotal in steering and managing the overall operations of the business to foster profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a three-year strategic vision aligned with ownership objectives.
  • Create and disseminate an annual business plan throughout the organization.
  • Formulate and implement an annual marketing strategy.
  • Achieve sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Monitor revenue against targets or plans.
  • Manage and meet gross profit and expense objectives.
  • Ensure profit targets are achieved.
  • Exceed customer satisfaction benchmarks as measured by Guild Quality scores.
  • Maintain or surpass employee satisfaction targets.

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

Lead the strategic direction of the company as a member of the executive management team, playing a crucial role in identifying potential partnerships and alliances. Oversee the development of operational strategies, approving staffing and resource recommendations to enhance operational efficiency. Establish top-level financial and operational performance metrics and facilitate the annual target-setting process.

Marketing and Sales Strategy:

Direct the marketing strategy, assessing the need for partnerships and outsourcing key marketing functions. Act as a visible representative of the company in various forums, including seminars and webinars, and contribute to industry publications.

Production Oversight:

Ensure the production team is equipped with the right strategies, structure, and support to fulfill its responsibilities. Conduct site visits as necessary to monitor project progress and quality, and participate in post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Organizational Support:

Support the operations and HR management to ensure effective office and service management. Promote an open-door policy to encourage employee feedback and conduct regular one-on-one meetings to assess leadership effectiveness.

Financial Oversight:

Guide the Accounting Manager in financial planning and reporting, analyzing monthly performance reports, and preparing business fundamentals reports to track key metrics.

Qualifications:

A minimum of ten to fifteen years of relevant experience in production leadership, sales management, or operations management within a similar industry is preferred. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, design, or architecture is advantageous but not mandatory.
