The organization employs a comprehensive strategy that encompasses direct assistance, advocacy, and community engagement to foster sustainable change.
Despite being located in one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, Santa Clara County faces significant poverty challenges, and Catholic Charities has been a key player in addressing these issues for over four decades. The agency is currently implementing a strategic plan, "Footsteps: Pathways to Self-Sufficiency," which aims to create a systematic and measurable approach to community change that supports families in achieving lasting economic stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of the "Footsteps" initiative, ensuring operational focus and effective management of a diverse portfolio of human services programs.
- Act as the primary representative of the organization to stakeholders, including funders, community partners, and the public, fostering relationships that enhance the agency's visibility and support.
The CEO will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, which includes the Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, to ensure the organization’s mission is fulfilled. The CEO will lead a talented executive team and oversee approximately 560 staff members, promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.
Leadership and Culture
- Develop a deep understanding of the agency's mission and history, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, trust, and mutual support among staff and Board members.
- Guide the organization through cultural transitions with empathy and strategic vision.
Financial Oversight
- Ensure efficient management of day-to-day operations and adherence to a sustainable financial plan.
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer to maintain fiscal health and transparency.
Program Development
- Champion high-quality programming and identify areas for service enhancement.
- Ensure the organization remains responsive to community needs through innovative service delivery.
Fundraising and External Relations
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to enhance fundraising efforts and diversify revenue streams.
- Build strategic partnerships with various stakeholders to expand the organization’s impact.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will embody the principles of servant leadership and possess a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities. Key qualifications include:
- A minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience in complex organizations.
- Proven track record in financial management and revenue generation.
