A leading distribution company, Tandym Group, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for daily financial recording, billing, and other ad hoc projects as directed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to meet month-end close deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Investigate and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial statements, maintaining the highest level of financial integrity.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses for review by management, providing actionable insights for business growth.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to eliminate inefficiencies in workflow processes and implement financial controls to streamline the month-end close process, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Partner with the finance management team and third-party consultants to resolve system process issues and improve and streamline financial systems, ensuring optimal financial performance.
  • Conduct regular assessments of internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, to identify and mitigate potential financial risks.
  • Assist with annual or governmental audits as requested, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure financial statements adhere to US GAAP standards, maintaining the highest level of financial reporting accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in local, state, and government license reporting and filing.
  • 5-7 years' experience in accounting and finance.
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, including transaction research and error resolution.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivots, macros, complex formulas, v-look-up, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to achieve desired results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely organized.
  • Ability to multitask.
