Overview

At Prisma Health, we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services to our community. As a Chief Administrative Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital during night shifts.

About the Role

This non-management position will report to a supervisor or manager and is responsible for interfacing with all departments to resolve problems that arise in the absence of administrative staff. You will demonstrate superior communication skills and serve as a role model for other employees by your performance and actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Makes rounds on all units to support nursing and help problem-solve by coaching and mentoring Charge Nurses and staff RNs.
  • Works with the Resource Staffing Department to stabilize core staffing levels throughout the hospital.
  • Resolves customer service-related issues involving Nursing, responds to patient/family and physician complaints, and documents incidents.
  • Coordinates bed management/diversion issues with the Administrator on call, Nursing Leadership, and Patient Placement Coordinators.
  • Reviews deaths for Medical Examiner/Coroner if appropriate, reviews death certificates for completeness, and handles related issues such as organ donation and autopsies.
  • Serves as a Planning Chief and temporary Incident Commander in disaster situations, initiating the disaster beeper alert system.
  • Collaborates with Security on miscellaneous issues, works with Employee Health and Infection Control to enforce policies and procedures, and assists Public Relations with meeting news media needs.
  • Acts as a resource and support to Nursing Management regarding policies and procedures, collaborating with Administration and Risk Management to address sensitive legal and clinical situations.
  • Manages critical personnel issues in the absence of management, ensuring employees are treated according to personnel policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, with 3 years of Nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Current South Carolina R.N. License (Lawson Code NLRN) required.

Estimated Salary Range

$80,000 - $110,000 per year
