Job SummaryThe Clinical Nursing Administrator will oversee staffing office personnel and ensure the effective placement of admitted patients. This role involves formulating a nurse float pool, coordinating daily supplement staff usage, monitoring agency usage, and advocating for patient safety and staffing effectiveness standards. The successful candidate will provide leadership, coordination, and management of personnel, assuming responsibility for hospital administrative functions when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain efficient utilization of nursing resources, working collaboratively with unit leadership, charge nurses, and non-clinical departments to evaluate current and potential staffing concerns.
- Coordinate patient placement, admission status process, and direct admissions during routine and surge situations.
- Interpret administrative/departmental policy and procedures for all personnel, serving as an administrative liaison, clinical resource, and role model for staff.
- Triage operational issues or clinical areas of concern, alerting the Administrator On-Call (AOC) as needed.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school; Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years of hospital-based nursing experience, with at least 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting.
- Current Registered Nurse License for the District of Columbia.
- BLS through American Heart Association certification, ACLS through American Heart Association certification.
