Job Overview

At Syngenta, we recognize that every team member plays a vital role in the mission to sustainably nourish the world and protect our environment. The Production & Supply division is currently looking for a Production Technician 2 to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Technician 2 is responsible for executing a variety of tasks related to agricultural production, warehouse operations, and field activities to ensure the distribution of premium seed products.

Accountabilities:
  • Operate machinery and systems in alignment with site-specific operational protocols.
  • Utilize forklifts and other equipment to support processes such as conditioning, packaging, and treatment.
  • Assist in managing agricultural activities including planting, monitoring, harvesting, and data collection.
  • Participate in field tasks such as rouging and detasseling as required.
  • Support process order tracking and administrative functions, leveraging data management systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date metrics and information on visual boards to facilitate teamwork and informed decision-making.
  • Notify senior technicians and management of any product or process discrepancies.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
  • Comply with internal procedures and local legal requirements.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for performance enhancement in line with production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to guarantee optimal functionality and report any issues promptly.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience, & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Willingness to work across various shifts.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Accurate documentation skills for production records.
  • Experience working in different areas of a production facility, such as warehouse and packaging.
Critical Success Factors & Challenges:
  • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Basic familiarity with production software.
  • Knowledge of routine maintenance practices.
  • Strong record-keeping abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Limited knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Ability to conduct quality inspections.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.
