Key Responsibilities

The Production Technician 2 is responsible for executing a range of tasks related to field operations, production processes, and warehouse management to ensure the efficient distribution of premium seed products.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Operate machinery and systems according to site-specific protocols.
  • Utilize forklifts and other equipment for packaging and treating processes.
  • Assist in managing agricultural activities, including planting and data collection.
  • Participate in field operations such as rouging and detasseling.
  • Support process order tracking and maintain production documentation using data management systems.
  • Keep metrics updated on visual boards to facilitate teamwork and informed decision-making.
  • Notify senior staff of any discrepancies in product quality or process deviations.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards.
  • Follow internal protocols and comply with local legal requirements.
  • Identify areas for performance enhancement in alignment with production objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to work various shifts.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate production records.
  • Experience working in different areas of a production facility.

Essential Success Factors:

  • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to a safe workplace.
  • Basic knowledge of production software.
  • Familiarity with routine maintenance practices.
  • Strong record-keeping abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Limited experience with SAP systems.
  • Ability to conduct quality inspections.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.
