The Role We're Seeking

We're looking for a seasoned leader to join our Industrial Business Unit as a Vice President. This individual will be responsible for acquiring new business and overseeing the successful execution of multiple projects. Success will be measured by winning new business and maintaining client satisfaction, while ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and safety standards.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing large and complex projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and/or Food & Beverage construction, as well as general commercial Real Estate Development knowledge. They will be a mentor and communicator, capable of leading teams of construction professionals and developing future leaders and business at Clayco.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan
  • Grow business in the market
  • Lead the team in responding to RFQ/RFP/GMP requests
  • Negotiate contracts with clients
  • Manage field staff in project setup and execution
  • Monitor project costs and labor projections
  • Lead preconstruction services in bidding projects
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in construction management or operations
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects of at least $100 million or multiple smaller projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required
  • Complete knowledge of construction principles and practices required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptable style
  • Proficient in leading project teams and maintaining relationships with external entities
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency
  • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
