Job Summary

The Research Administrator II plays a critical role in coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects and research-related activities within the Children's Hospital of Orange County.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects and research-related activities.
  • Manage multiple competing timetables and responsibilities with excellent organizational skills.
  • Interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of sponsored projects activities.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with CHOC associates, outside funding agencies, and vendors.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal electronic/web-based grant submission process.
Work Environment

The Research Administrator II will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate energy level, lifting and carrying up to 25-35 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to lbs. The physical activity requirements include bending, carry objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, push/pull, reaching forward, reaching overhead, sitting, squat/kneel/crawl, standing, talk or hear, taste or smell, twisting, walking, and wrist position deviation.
