Job Summary

The Research Administrator II is a key member of our team, responsible for coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of all sponsored projects and research-related activities and personnel within their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects and research-related activities
  • Manage multiple competing timetables and responsibilities with excellent organizational skills
  • Interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of sponsored projects activities
  • Work independently with excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Effective staff training, leading, and mentoring skills
  • Experience and proven ability managing research administration and grant/contract activities
  • Proven ability to formulate and implement policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with CHOC associates, outside funding agencies, and vendors
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration, preferably in industry or at a university or nonprofit research institution
  • Preferred: Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with federal grant and contract regulations
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent experience
Work Environment

The Research Administrator II will work in a fast-paced environment with a moderate energy level. The position requires the ability to lift and carry 25-35 lbs, push/pull lbs, and perform other physical activities as outlined in the job description.
