Job Summary
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Flight Software Team by analyzing, designing, and testing software solutions for Millennium Space Systems. This role involves reviewing functional requirements and user stories from clients and other subsystems, crafting test plans, developing test cases, overseeing testing strategies, and executing tests for designated applications. Additionally, this position will involve reporting and verifying defects, maintaining comprehensive documentation of test outcomes to aid in debugging and modifying Millennium Space Systems software, analyzing test results to validate existing functionalities and integrations, and recommending corrective measures in the event of failures.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed test plans and develop test cases.
- Design and execute test scripts.
- Debug software and tests in both real hardware and simulated environments.
- Analyze test outcomes to confirm functionality and suggest corrective actions based on any anomalies detected.
- Oversee the GitLab CI process to ensure automated test execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing.
- Proficient in creating test documentation (test plans/procedures, SQA plans).
- Experience in developing automated tests.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or C++.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitLab.
- Experience with continuous integration practices.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Expertise in designing both functional and non-functional test cases that verify requirements and validate software functionality.
- Experienced in evaluating test results, reporting findings, and utilizing metrics.
Compensation Overview
The salary range for this position is based on experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Level 2: $90,950 - $133,750
- Level 3: $112,200 - $165,000
