Position Summary
The Senior Quality Engineer is tasked with identifying, addressing, and eliminating quality challenges in spacecraft and product manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with both design and production teams, elevating the reliability of both the teams and the hardware. This role also involves initiating corrective measures in partnership with our manufacturing and engineering departments.
This position's internal job classification is Quality Engineer. Our team is currently looking to fill levels 3-5.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and evaluate inspection and testing protocols, acceptance criteria, and operational instructions and procedures.
- Work with internal teams to foster improvements and tackle significant and recurring non-conformances.
- Proactively formulate quality initiative strategies and oversee their execution.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts on the production floor, applying lean principles to eliminate unnecessary processes.
- Assess the performance of products and processes during production ramp-up using a variety of quality and analytical methods.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
- Engage in product development reviews as necessary, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
- Advise company leadership on the implementation of process enhancements in assigned programs or product areas.
- Travel as required to manage issues with customers and suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering capacity, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical and avionics product manufacturing, assembly, testing, and inspection processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, providing input for assembly and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Intermediate understanding of AS9100 quality standards.
- Experience with process auditing techniques to ensure adherence to established quality requirements.
- Proficient in applying statistical analysis methodologies.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an engineering field.
- Experience with quality and manufacturing processes in a high-volume setting.
- Knowledge of J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 standards.
- Proven ability to collaboratively devise technical solutions to challenges without compromising quality or safety.
- Current TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation Overview
The salary information provided below is a general guideline reflecting what is reasonably expected for this position. Salaries are influenced by candidate experience, qualifications, market conditions, and business considerations.
Salary Range
- Level 3: $94,350 - $138,750
- Level 4: $116,450 - $171,250
- Level 5: $144,500 - $212,500
