Job Title: Correction Clerk

Delaware County, OH is seeking a highly skilled Correction Clerk to join our team. As a Correction Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our correctional facility and ensuring the safety and well-being of our inmates and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inmate information, including demographic data, arrest and conviction history, and medical and mental health information.
  • Conduct thorough searches of inmates and their property to ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to correctional officers and other staff members as needed, including assisting with inmate transportation and providing information to visitors.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and cultural diversity.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in a correctional facility or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions:

The Correction Clerk will work in a correctional facility environment, which may include exposure to noise, stress, and potentially hazardous situations.
