Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance and Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. This role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive system to ensure that all products meet applicable policies, procedures, and specifications. The supervisor will also manage the Quality Control laboratory and its equipment, conduct internal and external quality investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update quality management standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Oversee the Quality Control Laboratory, including personnel management, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate compliance activities for ISO and cGMP standards, providing necessary training.
  • Ensure safe and efficient laboratory operations, including equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive site specifications for products, raw materials, and packaging.
  • Lead quality investigations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage the internal audit program and coordinate customer and compliance audits, addressing any nonconformities.
  • Maintain the SAP quality management module, including Certificate of Analysis (COA) generation.
  • Oversee qualification and validation protocols for equipment and analytical methods.
  • Participate in corporate quality initiatives and implement them at the local level as needed.

Technical Duties:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Assign and oversee laboratory duties, providing training as necessary.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Promptly report all health, safety, and environmental incidents.
  • Act responsibly and safely at all times.

Problem Solving and Innovation:

  • Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend updates to SOPs and suggest new equipment to enhance productivity.
  • Participate in problem-solving efforts.
  • Take ownership of personal development and contribute to the overall improvement of the organization.
  • Assist in the training and assessment of team members.
  • Exercise autonomy and judgment within the framework of established guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 3-5 years of experience in quality systems management, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and familiar with SAP and Process Mapping.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to address practical problems and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Preferred experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV/Vis, GC, and FTIR.
