Job Title: Molding Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Molding Engineer to lead our molding operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, optimize, and validate injection molding processes for high-precision components.
  • Oversee the design, selection, and installation of injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, and tooling.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues related to molding processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Ensure molding processes comply with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Lead the troubleshooting of injection molding defects, perform mold flow analysis, and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability and moldability.
  • Develop and implement molding process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials for operators and technicians.
  • Manage mold maintenance programs, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure mold performance and longevity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization.
  • Support new product development efforts by collaborating with cross-functional teams on mold design reviews, tool trials, and process validation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in injection molding engineering, including process development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in mold design, mold flow analysis, and process simulation software.
  • Strong knowledge of mold tooling, materials, and equipment in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in managing mold validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 or GMP.
  • Demonstrated success in improving molding operations and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to diagnose and resolve molding issues.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
