About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer III to join our team at Daikin Applied. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of primary systems and sub-systems of Air-Cooled Chillers, with a focus on the growing Data Center Market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical System Development: Utilize engineering fundamentals such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and mechanical analysis to develop HVAC equipment.
  • Lead Development Process: Contribute to a fast-paced stage gate development process and provide technical direction to create concepts and develop them into a Data Center focused marketable product.
  • Product Design and Integration: Lead and support the design and integration of subsystems, including compression refrigeration systems, fans, motors, mechanical drives, and variable speed technologies.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide support for Concept and Prototype unit builds, as well as oversight of laboratory testing, including creation of test plans, direction during testing, and analysis of data collected during testing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Initiate and obtain agency and regulatory approval status for new products.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce technical documentation to support the Marketing launch of new products and product options.
  • Product Support: Provide infant support for newly released products, including review of training program documentation, support for Application Engineering and Sales, and assistance in various Cost Improvement Goals.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 10+ years of related experience (HVAC, Industrial Process, Data Center or similar) OR Master's Degree with 5+ years of related experience (HVAC, Industrial Process, Data Center or similar) OR PhD with 0-2 years of related experience (HVAC, Industrial Process, Data Center or similar).
  • Skills: Detailed knowledge of engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry, PC skills including Microsoft Office applications, strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Work Visa Sponsorship: Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
