Job Overview

As a Product Development Engineer at HCLTech, you will be responsible for providing innovative solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. You will work in a dynamic office environment with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Applications, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical guidance and advice to colleagues within the organization, leveraging your expertise in NPD Design and HVAC design.
  2. Design modifications to standard products to meet specific customer needs, ensuring quality, performance, safety, and cost standards are met.
  3. Support product development testing and design activities to achieve engineering objectives.
  4. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve productivity using techniques such as lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  5. Identify and propose cost improvement initiatives to increase product value.
  6. Resolve field service problems using sound engineering judgment.
  7. Take on project management responsibilities and work on business process improvement projects.
  8. Stay up-to-date on product and component technology advancements and industry trends to effectively perform your duties.
  9. Investigate engineering and manufacturing issues related to product assembly and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  10. Develop tools to measure and improve product bill of material accuracy and throughput.
  11. Maintain agency and regulatory approval status for products.
  12. Ensure product documentation is accurate and consistent.
