Job Overview

The Labor Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with labor laws, prevailing wage requirements, and other regulatory frameworks in government contracts and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Review: Conduct thorough reviews of certified payroll reports to guarantee compliance with prevailing wage laws, such as the Davis-Bacon Act and other state-specific regulations.
  • Audit Assistance: Collaborate with auditors and investigators to ensure contractors and subcontractors meet labor compliance requirements, including accurate wage payments and classifications.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit accurate labor compliance reports to regulatory agencies, clients, and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update compliance documentation, reports, and records using various payroll and compliance management software.
  • Regulatory Research: Stay up-to-date on labor regulations, wage determinations, and industry-specific compliance requirements; communicate updates and changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between contractors, subcontractors, project teams, and government agencies, providing guidance and clarification on labor compliance issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve any discrepancies or violations regarding labor law compliance by conducting investigations and recommending corrective action.
  • Training Support: Assist in educating contractors and project teams on labor compliance standards, including wage determinations, apprenticeship requirements, and other key guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed compliance records and documentation to support audits, investigations, and legal inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in labor compliance, payroll management, auditing, or a similar role. Familiarity with federal, state, and local labor regulations is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of labor compliance laws, such as prevailing wage laws (Davis-Bacon Act, etc.).
    • Experience reviewing payroll records and identifying discrepancies.
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with contractors, agencies, and internal teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and labor compliance or payroll software.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work independently and in teams; ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects.

Work Environment:

The role is generally office-based with occasional site visits, depending on the projects. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
