Position Overview:
Branch Service Specialists will typically work an average of 40 hours per week during our operational hours: Monday-Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-6pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Branch Service Specialist, you will perform a wide array of member sales and service functions, including teller transactions, to ensure an exceptional member experience.

Your role will involve actively listening to identify member needs, asking insightful questions, and cross-selling products and services as effective solutions to foster loyal member relationships.

You will collaborate as a productive and engaged team member to serve our members and achieve both individual and branch goals.

Essential Duties:


Utilize a consultative approach to serve members, asking impactful questions to uncover and meet their needs, both recognized and unrecognized.

Adhere to MSGCU's service standards to accurately complete teller transactions and member service responsibilities, ensuring precise processing and balancing of the teller drawer and checks at the end of the day.

Comply with all MSGCU policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to both Member Service and Teller roles.
Exceed member service expectations and cultivate trusting relationships by acting as a financial expert.
Employ Creating Member Loyalty skills to effectively address member complaints and resolve issues.
Proactively generate new business by asking for referrals and business opportunities.
Maintain awareness of competitor fees and products, alongside a general understanding of the current financial landscape.
Actively engage with the branch team to ensure members receive prompt and efficient service.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED;
6 months of experience as a teller in a financial institution or as a retail sales representative/cashier;

Alternatively:
2 years of retail sales experience, or
Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Finance, or
1 year of member/customer-facing experience within a financial institution.

Working Conditions:
Office and branch environment with minimal discomfort from noise, temperature extremes, dust, or other factors.
Travel throughout MSGCU's service area may be required to support other branches as needed.
Potential exposure to hazardous conditions, such as robbery.

This position involves primarily sitting, with brief periods of walking or standing, and may occasionally require lifting or moving up to 10 pounds.

Base hourly pay starts at $17.80/hour.
Team members in this role can earn incentives as part of our variable compensation plan.

If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, along with a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k).
You will enjoy 12 paid holidays and up to 120 hours of PTO in your first year of service.
