Role Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Project Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering and solid waste initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and team members to ensure projects meet technical specifications and regulatory standards. Candidates should possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, design, permitting, and execution of civil engineering projects, including site development and land redevelopment.
  • Work alongside project managers to create project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare engineering design documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Assist in the procurement process by drafting bid documents and evaluating contractor proposals.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to facilitate timely project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Address technical challenges that arise during project implementation.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical insights and support.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in civil engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • EIT or Professional Engineer designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering projects, ideally in a project engineer capacity.
  • Strong understanding of civil and environmental engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with project management practices.
