Job Responsibilities
  • Design and Planning: Design and plan production for general civil projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.
  • Quantity Calculations: Perform quantity calculations to ensure accurate project estimates.
  • Specifications and Contract Documents: Prepare specifications and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
  • Project Management: Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Experience in general civil engineering, including design and planning, quantity calculations, and technical expertise.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Civil Engineering, such as InRoads, Siteworks, Hecras, etc.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous work experience with Cal Trans/Local Cities projects (studies and design) is preferred.
