Position Overview: The Department of Developmental Services Metro Region is in search of a motivated and enthusiastic individual for the role of Support Services Coordinator II, which represents the second tier in the direct support series.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the daily operations of the assigned shift, ensuring effective support and guidance to junior staff members.
  2. Deliver comprehensive and meaningful assistance to adults with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities within their residential and community settings.
  3. Ensure compliance with individual rights and dignity in accordance with DDS, local, state, and federal regulations.
  4. Provide functional oversight to Direct Support Workers I, including daily management, training, and adherence to DDS's mission and principles.
  5. Facilitate direct care services in daily living, social, and recreational skills by instructing and engaging individuals in various aspects of their lives.
  6. Administer health and safety interventions, including medication management, First Aid, CPR, and crisis intervention, to maintain the overall well-being of individuals.
  7. Maintain and review confidential records for individuals, ensuring accountability for funds allocated for recreational and community activities.
  8. Assist with household and food-related tasks, including menu planning, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry duties.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, specifically during the 3rd shift from Tuesday to Saturday, with days off on Sunday and Monday.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in supporting individuals with disabilities, or an Associate's degree or higher in a relevant human services field.
  • Preferred skills include the ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams and establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of standard DDS policies, procedures, and safety practices is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Agency Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of the Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification is required.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid, along with training in a DDS-approved de-escalation/restraint curriculum, is necessary.

Additional Information: This position is classified as an "EMERGENCY" role within the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan, requiring flexibility in work schedules and the ability to perform mandatory overtime as needed.
