Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is eligible for the Nursing Support Incentive Program, specifically for internal staff transitioning from per diem to full-time status, which includes a $5,000 incentive over a three-year commitment.

The Clinical Support Technician II will be engaged in the Medicine Clinic, fulfilling a dual role that encompasses both Nursing Assistant (NA) responsibilities and various Administrative/Clerical tasks.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, including the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Thoroughly review patient care documentation, noting any significant changes in the patient's condition, and promptly report to a registered nurse or physician.
3. Execute a variety of clerical tasks, such as organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, researching information as needed, reviewing orders for accuracy, revising orders as requested, answering phone calls and patient call lights, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records. Conduct routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory management.
4. Provide administrative support, including participation in performance improvement audits and data entry.
5. Offer clinical support, which includes maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring office equipment is operational, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, changing linens, checking supply inventory, restocking supplies, transporting patients, and assisting in the orientation of new staff and students.
6. Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. Measure and document vital signs, height, and weight. May involve specimen collection, skin preps, catheter care, glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and other related tasks.
7. Reinforce patient education provided by registered nurses or physicians and document patient comprehension of instructions. Distribute educational materials as requested by patients or healthcare providers.

Qualifications:
Education:
● High School diploma or GED required.
Licensure/Certification:
● Listed as a Nursing Assistant I and II by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
● Minimum of one year of clerical or customer service experience and three months of nursing assistant experience required.
Skills:
● Proficiency in verbal and written English is essential. Ability to develop computer skills if not already competent.
