Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is part of our Nursing Support Incentive Program, specifically designed for internal staff transitioning from per diem to full-time (36+ hours/week) employment. The program offers a $5,000 incentive distributed over a three-year commitment.

The Clinical Support Technician II will be engaged with the Medicine Clinic, fulfilling a dual role that encompasses both Nursing Assistant (NA) and Administrative/Clerical responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM) – 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, including the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Review patient care documentation critically, noting significant changes in patient conditions, and report these to a registered nurse or physician promptly.
3. Perform various clerical tasks such as organizing and prioritizing workloads, greeting and directing visitors, researching information for healthcare providers, reviewing orders for clarity, and maintaining medical records. Conduct routine quality assurance audits and inventory checks.
4. Provide administrative support, including performance improvement audits and data entry.
5. Offer clinical support by maintaining a clean work environment, troubleshooting common software and hardware issues, restocking supplies, and assisting in the orientation of new staff and students.
6. Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in their care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. Measure and document vital signs, height, and weight. Responsibilities may include specimen collection, catheter care, and other clinical tasks as required.
7. Reinforce educational material provided to patients by healthcare professionals and document patient comprehension of instructions.

Qualifications:
Education:
● High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
Licensure/Certification:
● Listed as a Nursing Assistant I and II by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience:
● Minimum of one year in a clerical or customer service role and three months of nursing assistant experience.
Skills:
● Proficiency in verbal and written English. Ability to develop computer skills if not already competent.
