Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team in the Medical Surgical Progressive Care unit at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
- Collect and send specimens, including blood and blood cultures.
- Perform point-of-care testing, such as blood glucose monitoring.
- Document patient information and required data in appropriate areas.
- Assist with preparing the patient room for arrival and discharge.
- Provide wound and exit site care as delegated.
- Perform other unit-specific duties as delegated.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
- Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
