Field Engineer Assistant

In this role, the Field Engineer Apprentice will work closely with experienced technicians to develop skills in troubleshooting and repairing complex diagnostic imaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electronics and mechanical principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the evaluation and repair of imaging equipment issues, ensuring proper functionality and customer satisfaction.
- Perform preventative maintenance on designated equipment, adhering to hospital protocol and GE policies.
- Conduct safety and environmental inspections, ensuring compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
- Document service and repair activities, maintaining accurate records and adhering to hospital and GE procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing timely and effective support to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to enhance technical knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with current standards, codes, and procedures.
- Graduate from an A.S., B.S., or M.S. degree program in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, or a related field, or equivalent DOD military education.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Previous experience in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with a strong understanding of schematic diagrams and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds unassisted, and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods.
Candidate must also be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
