Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation - Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation

Role: Clinical Liaison (RN, OT, PT, or SLP)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm

Compensation: Competitive base salary with quarterly bonuses

As a Clinical Liaison, you will serve as a crucial advocate for patients, guiding them through their healthcare journey and facilitating their access to essential rehabilitation services. Your role will involve establishing and nurturing relationships within the local medical community to enhance referrals and admissions to our Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center. Leveraging your clinical expertise, you will assess patient needs and present them with options for care that they may not be aware of, ultimately aiming to empower them towards independence upon returning home.

Our Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center specializes in caring for individuals with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other neurological conditions, particularly those at risk for unsafe discharges. We provide a supportive environment that feels like home while offering comprehensive therapy tailored to patients with physical, behavioral, and cognitive challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

In this impactful position, you will take on a leadership role, fostering professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and expanding our referral network across the healthcare market.
  • Advocating for patients to ensure they receive the necessary care.
  • Engaging with physicians, particularly those unfamiliar with our rehabilitation services.
  • Creating targeted lists of contacts and decision-makers in assigned hospitals, while providing exceptional customer service and education about our services.
  • Managing insurance approvals and authorizations, as well as facilitating appeals for patients.
  • Ensuring high levels of satisfaction among referral sources and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Educating potential patients and their families about the benefits of our rehabilitation programs.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives through educational programs and outreach in assigned hospitals.
  • Developing strategies to enhance market share in key service areas, setting quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Collaborating with leadership to identify opportunities for strategic business growth.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of relevant experience in a clinical healthcare environment or prior experience in a clinical liaison role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in rehabilitation or post-acute care settings.
  • A proven track record in sales and marketing, with at least one year of experience in a related role is preferred.
  • Experience with insurance approvals, prior authorizations, and appeals processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling confidential healthcare information.
