Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Portfolio Manager to manage client accounts, maintain and develop client relationships, and drive business development efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of named accounts and meeting or exceeding revenue retention and expansion targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage company past and current contracts within assigned accounts to identify, qualify, and position new business opportunities.
  • Manage and monitor client accounts to ensure alignment with clients' goals and preferences.
  • Conduct regular reviews of client accounts and make necessary adjustments to meet client needs.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities sufficient to meet the company's revenue targets.
  • Provide critical leadership from early capture strategy development through the post-submission phases.
  • Assist the proposal team with strategy based on collected intelligence.
  • Research customers, competitors, solutions, specific opportunities, teaming partners, and potential key personnel to capture government contracts.
  • Document all capture information and report the status of opportunities throughout the business development lifecycle.
  • Apply knowledge of program management, federal procurement regulations, and the proposal development process.
  • Implement or utilize strategic plans on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of directly related industry experience as a business developer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Proven track record of winning previous capture efforts.
  • Five or more years of experience in portfolio and account management, client relationships, and business development within state, local, and federal government.
  • Well-versed in industry practices, trends, and leaders.
  • Possess knowledge of competitors.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and organizational time management skills.
  • Display a strong customer-facing presence.
  • Must possess experience coordinating the activities of multiple internal business units.
  • Must possess the ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines.
  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively with leadership to develop sound, executable business development strategies.
  • Must possess the ability to develop innovative ideas into actionable process improvements to improve daily business development operations.
  • Must attend local events and networking engagements on behalf of the company.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements and industry events.

Desired Skills:

  • Possess the ability to develop and implement creative strategies into winning bids, including a thorough understanding of price-to-win analysis.
  • Proven experience supporting GSA Schedule contracts.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Active Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
