We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our Peoria Record-to-Report team. In this pivotal role, you will manage and contribute to various functions within our shared services group, offering legal entity support and strategic insights on financial and transactional matters.

This position will concentrate on the parent company and select manufacturing facilities, allowing you to become a subject matter expert in monthly closings, reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the closing processes for GBS facilities and analyze actual results for presentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation processes to support facility operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team.
  • Lead diverse activities that require adherence to U.S. GAAP and Caterpillar's accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with Technical Accounting on complex business issues, including financial reporting for the parent company.
  • Advocate for our shared services model and contribute to the development of business strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational policies, offering guidance to team members.
  • Work with the team to standardize reporting processes with a focus on lean transformation.
  • Foster talent development within the team, managing and training members in the shared services COE and our third-party provider.
Qualifications:
  • Attention to Detail: Strong understanding of the importance of accuracy and the ability to perform tasks with precision.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficient in finance and accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Familiarity with analytical techniques and tools to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Prioritization Skills: Ability to manage multiple objectives and projects effectively, making sound judgments on prioritization.
  • Financial Analysis Expertise: Competence in interpreting financial data and drawing accurate conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
