About the Role:

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the department leader, the role involves managing the requisition, stocking, and distribution of materials for procedural departments, utilizing efficient supply chain methodologies. The position requires adept problem-solving skills to handle supply PAR levels, discrepancies, and backorder items within clinical settings. Acts as the Supply Chain Liaison for key personnel in procedural departments and the Operating Room, ensuring precise preparation and prompt delivery of surgical case carts. Collaborates with department leadership to conduct root cause analysis of supply shortages and guarantees that supply orders are processed, received, and stocked appropriately for medical procedures.



Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications: Must be able to receive training and certification for operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Experience: At least one year of experience in healthcare supply within a hospital procedural environment or a similar setting.

  • Ability to swiftly resolve urgent supply disruptions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing outstanding service to medical staff, patients, and vendors.
  • Competence in analyzing and adjusting Kanban PAR levels to enhance inventory efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to assess urgency in customer inquiries and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
  • Basic understanding of inventory and distribution methodologies, with the ability to identify various sourcing options.
  • Proficient in using various software applications necessary for completing job responsibilities, including hospital ERP systems and MS Office applications.
  • Physical capability to stand, sit, crouch, push/pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.


Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all supply chain duties, schedules, and deadlines for hospital procedural areas are met.
  • Maintains the Kanban program through the Daily Management System (DMS).
  • Conducts Kanban node stocking in accordance with company policies using ERP and DMS.
  • Builds surgical case carts based on surgical requisitions and surgeon preferences.
  • Accurately pulls supplies and instruments for assigned cases.
  • Creates a deficit list of supplies and instruments needed for cases.
  • Communicates with Sterile Processing and O.R. staff to facilitate the acquisition of necessary supplies.
  • Transfers completed case carts to the sterile core and retrieves core items for those carts.
  • Pulls case carts into assigned rooms and stages all necessary items.
  • Processes all urgent requests and case carts promptly.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Acts as a resource for the surgical team in acquiring necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Coordinates with other departments to expedite needed items for surgeries.
  • Assists in troubleshooting instrumentation and supply issues.
  • Inventories and restocks instruments and supplies in the core and assists in stocking O.R. rooms.
  • Works with O.R. staff to acquire specialty supplies for scheduled and emergency cases.
  • Completes special assignments independently.
  • Collaborates with the Par Optimization team to adjust inventory as needed.
  • Communicates with vendors regarding loaner items and ensures proper documentation.
  • Participates in the implementation of item conversions and new item additions.
  • Communicates with nursing representatives regarding supply PAR level changes.
  • Conducts expiration date checks on stock items.
  • Orders and performs inventory audits of biologics and complex supplies.
  • Supports a safe working environment in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
