Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Training Specialist to join our Engineering Services team. This role is essential for supporting our training initiatives and will be based in Philadelphia, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the operation, maintenance, and evaluation of naval air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Identify and assess training requirements.
- Design, develop, and update comprehensive, interactive, instructor-led technical courses.
- Create and finalize training documentation and instructional materials based on technical resources.
- Deliver training sessions to diverse audiences.
- Evaluate training needs and develop objectives and goals for training programs.
- Conduct tailored training classes and develop associated curricula.
- Determine necessary resources for training implementation and ensure adherence to training plans.
- Perform research and analysis to enhance training effectiveness.
- Provide supplementary materials and lead discussions during training sessions.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on training development.
- Assess the overall effectiveness of training programs through feedback and continuous improvement.
- Exhibit strong communication skills.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in training or three years of military experience in curriculum development and instruction.
- Have a minimum of three years of experience in planning and managing training development for extensive programs.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration theory, as well as relevant technical specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, demonstrating critical thinking and comprehension skills.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Security and Travel Requirements:
- Must be eligible for a DoD security clearance to access military facilities.
- Occasional travel may be required, up to 10% within and outside the continental United States.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment, with a minimum weight of 30 lbs.
- Capability to work in various environments, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
