Job Summary

The Director of Facilities Operations is a key leadership position at North Carolina A&T State University, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of campus facilities. This role requires a strong background in facilities management, construction, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance and repair program for campus facilities
  • Oversee a team of employees, including in-house project managers and construction contractors
  • Contribute to the development of the campus master plan and direct activities to implement the plan
  • Ensure compliance with NC Building Codes and OSHA regulations
  • Collaborate with other university departments to achieve facilities-related goals
Requirements
  • Master's degree in architectural, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
  • Four years of technical and supervisory experience in facilities, construction, and project management
  • Additional experience in project scheduling, NC Building Codes, and OSHA regulations
  • Licensed/Professional Engineer Certification
  • Membership in the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least six years of technical and supervisory experience in a multi-building environment
