About the Role

Vimeo is seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Web Development team. This critical position will play a pivotal role in driving complex technical initiatives, bridging the gap between various teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of our web-based projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Complex Technical Programs: Oversee and manage intricate technical programs and initiatives for the Web Development team, collaborating closely with Engineering, Marketing, Design, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison between the Web Development team and other Engineering teams, effectively communicating needs, priorities, and technical requirements.
  • Technical Guidance and Decision-Making: Participate in technical discussions and decision-making, providing guidance without relying on engineering managers.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Identify, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across various web technologies.
  • Agile Methodologies: Drive Agile methodologies, including running effective Scrum sprints and all associated ceremonies.
  • Training and Documentation: Empower the marketing organization to independently build pages within our CMS by developing training programs, creating comprehensive documentation, and establishing best practices.
  • Team Alignment and Strategy: Align team objectives with broader organizational goals, ensuring our web development efforts support Vimeo's overall strategy.
  • Project Management: Manage project dependencies, risks, and timelines to ensure successful delivery of web development initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Vendor Management: Work effectively with external vendors, managing relationships and integrating their work into our projects.
  • Technical Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap planning for the Web Development team.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • KPIs and Reporting: Define and track relevant KPIs for projects and team performance, creating actionable progress reports for various stakeholders.
  • Project Tracking and Management: Create and manage complex project structures within Jira, ensuring effective project tracking and management.
Requirements
  • Technical Program Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in web development or related field.
  • Technical Background: Strong technical background as a former developer; experience in front-end / full-stack development is preferred.
  • Web Technologies: Deep understanding of web technologies, best practices, and current trends.
  • System Architecture and Design: Proficiency in system architecture and design.
  • Debugging and Issue Resolution: Ability to debug complex technical issues across various web technologies.
  • CMS and DX Platforms: Familiarity with CMS platforms; experience with is a plus.
  • Agile Methodologies: Extensive experience applying Agile principles and running effective Scrum sprints.
  • Project Management Tools: Advanced knowledge of project management tools, particularly Jira, including the ability to create and manage complex project structures.
  • Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Exceptional skill in requirements gathering, documentation, and technical writing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work across departments, manage complex cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate with external vendors.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and resolve issues independently.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Risk Management: Experience in risk management and mitigation in technical projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $110,700.00 to $169,500.00. Please note that actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, and a candidate's home base.
