Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing and resolving insurance and patient account issues, ensuring accurate billing and payment processing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hospital billing procedures, insurance regulations, and customer service principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Insurance Claims Processing: Timely and accurately process insurance claims, ensuring maximum payment on accounts.
  • Account Management: Investigate and resolve charge ticket discrepancies, maintain accuracy of insurance and patient account status, and ensure positive customer relations.
  • Self-Pay Billing: Collect coinsurance, deductibles, and self-pay balances, and process required adjustments/credits to maintain accuracy of account payment information.
  • Cashiering: Post payments to patient accounts, balance cash posting daily, and prepare cashier's bank deposit in a timely manner.
Additional Duties:
  • Respond to correspondence and account activity in a timely and professional manner.
  • Interact with staff and customers to provide insurance information and resolve payment and account status inquiries.
  • Communicate with patients and guarantors to obtain payment throughout the patient care/payment cycle.
  • Apply hospital credit and financial assistance policies in interactions with hospital customers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
