As part of our team, you will play a vital role in IT Service Delivery for our internal stakeholders and clients. You will be joining a dedicated group of Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers who support the elite research staff at the Laboratory. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Systems Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional system administration for computer systems in sensitive environments.
  • Expertly configuring, installing, and maintaining computer systems in both standalone and networked settings.
  • Implementing sophisticated solutions for local and wide area networks.
  • Ensuring efficient resource allocation, high availability, security compliance, and seamless scalability of physical and virtualized solutions.
  • Managing user accounts, including password resets and annual computer recertification.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex software and hardware issues in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to security-related documentation, including configuration documentation and system security plans.
  • Enforcing the organization's cybersecurity policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conducting system backups and recovery to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Performing regular vulnerability assessments and managing patch updates to address identified risks.
  • Maintaining operational security for information systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Installing, modifying, and maintaining systems and utility software in accordance with best practices and cybersecurity guidelines.
  • Identifying and addressing potential security vulnerabilities, recommending enhancements to system resilience.
  • Integrating security measures into communication protocols and software architecture to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Developing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans, testing their effectiveness, and adjusting as necessary.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Qualifications

You will meet our minimum qualifications if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or possess 6 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Have experience configuring complex technology stacks and navigating challenging situations.
  • Are familiar with PKI, RSA, and Windows or Linux certificate management.
  • Have hands-on experience managing classified computer networks.
  • Have built and maintained Active Directory environments or have experience with Linux user access management.
  • Have configured operating systems and applications through Group Policy.
  • Have experience with security tools such as ACAS, Splunk, Ivanti, or McAfee.
  • Have applied Security Technical Implementation Guide Rules (STIGs) to various technologies.
  • Are skilled in troubleshooting operating systems and applications.
  • Have experience with WSUS or similar patch deployment systems.
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with technical staff and management.
  • Hold a current SSBI and DoD 8570 certification (Security+, SSCP, or CISSP-ISSE).
  • Have a Top-Secret level security clearance by your start date and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

You will exceed our minimum qualifications if you:

  • Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or possess 12 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Have demonstrated expertise in advanced systems administration and networking.
  • Have extensive experience with automation and scripting languages.
  • Are proficient with containerization technologies.
  • Have experience with advanced configuration management tools.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of enterprise-level systems and applications.
  • Have a proven track record in developing and implementing automation strategies.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills, including leading IT projects.
  • Have experience with enterprise security frameworks and protocols.
  • Have hands-on experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
